change – print

This is a hand-gilded, limited edition print. Framed and ready to hang.

It combines the clean finish of a high quality Giclée print with the craftsmanship of an original artwork – once the design goes through the printing process using archival paper, it is gilded over with 24ct gold leaf and finished by hand, to produce a unique work that is somewhere between the two.

The design is part of The Word project. Inspired by illuminated manuscripts and medieval gilding techniques, it explores language and the idea of the ‘sacred word’ in an age when nothing is held sacred.

There is a message within the design which reads: ‘Change’.

A keysheet is included with the artwork that reveals its underlying structure (this can also be found at any time on The Word gallery page in the Stringlish link).

(Note: please keep the artwork flat if you wish to remove it from the frame, as strong bending or rolling of the paper may damage the gilding.)
